LESS is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company set up in 2007 to provide practical support to help the residents of Lancashire live more sustainably. We seek to help communities to live within their fair share of the planet’s resources while enabling everyone to meet their needs for a healthy home, food and environment. 

LESS coordinates a wide range of environmental and community projects, including North Lancashire’s FoodFutures, the district’s award winning Sustainable Food Places partnership. We also offer mentoring and consultancy for companies, organisations and community groups wanting to deepen their engagement with sustainability and social justice. 

We specialise in bringing different communities and stakeholders together across our region to share skills, knowledge and ideas and to co-create solutions to a range of inter-connected challenges: from climate change, rising food poverty and barriers to accessing land and healthy food, through to declining biodiversity, fractured communities and food and textile waste.

In addition to our knowledge on sustainability, many organisations choose to work with us because of our experience in developing healthy and regenerative organisational cultures using approaches based on sociocracy and consent based decision making.
